John Linz, MD

John Linz, MD, is one of the few board-certified orthopaedic surgeons in Cincinnati who specialize in foot and ankle surgery. He’s on the team of first-rate physicians at Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, where he sees patients at the practice’s Anderson and Eastgate locations in Cincinnati.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the Ohio State University School of Allied Medical Professions in Columbus, Dr. Linz relocated to Cincinnati to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree and completed an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed his medical training with a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Linz has a special interest in total ankle replacements and osteochondral lesions of the talus, and is also a wound care specialist, treating the poorly healing wounds that are a common occurrence in diabetic patients. He is active in teaching students, trainers, physician assistants, and residents. He’s a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Medical Association, Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, and Ohio State Medical Association.

Dr. Linz is involved with the care of local athletes including St Xavier high school and FC Cincinnati. He is also the medical director of the Wellington/Mercy performing arts program, taking care of the Cincinnati ballet, school for the creative and performing arts and dancers in the greater Cincinnati area.

Dr. Linz was born and raised in Cincinnati, where he currently lives with his wife, three children, son in law and grandson.
